consultation with Sir Cecil Bottomley, we have telegraphed to the Governor asking him his views on the question whether we should try and get the services of Mr. Coode or alternatively somebody of lesser calibre from the Crown Agents. Unless his reply is such as to suggest the postponement of the scheme, there seems no reason to think that it will
be held up in present circumstances. I attach a draft reply to Sir George Gater.
